Dietary Silver Intake

Our label suggests one or more teaspoons daily of Millenia may be taken on an empty stomach. If you are an average adult, you can decide to better support your acute immune stresses when these suddenly surface by taking up to 1 teaspoon every 20 or 30 minutes throughout the day. But remember to only take Millenia on an empty stomach. Wait ten minutes before drinking or eating any food. However, you should wait several hours after eating - until the stomach is empty again - before resuming dosage. This can continue without any known risks for several days or even a few weeks when desired.

For people less concerned with recent or acute immune stresses, but very concerned about chronic immune stresses or long term immune health, Millenia offers better immune support by starting with 1 teaspoon twice daily for a week or more, and then gradually increase every three days up to 1 tablespoon twice daily.¨ Again, it is best to take our colloidal silver on an empty stomach.

What do health authorities say about exposure to (ingesting) silver? According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) the average adult can consume 350 mcg of silver daily for up to 70 years without any known risk. The equivalent of this dose is seven teaspoons of Millenia daily. Risk only begins at approximately three times this amount if taken every day for 70 years.[1], [2] The equivalent of this dose is in excess of nineteen teaspoons of Millenia daily. However, dietary silver from food needs to be accounted for if high quality colloidal silver is to be taken for many years.

Silver Occurs Naturally In Our Foods

Silver, although a rare element, has an average abundance of about 0.1 ppm in the earth’s crust, and generally 0.3 ppm in the soil. Silver is released into our air and water through natural processes.[3]

Should people who are healthy and just want to remain that way consider supplementing with Millenia? And if so, “What is a prudent and adequate daily intake for dietary silver?” The daily value (DV) for silver has not been determined; it is not considered an essential mineral. However, for many years selenium was not considered essential, yet its many benefits begged the same question. When no DV amount has yet been determined, it is customary for scientists to look at the typical diet content for the mineral. Past studies have pointed out that average diets contain from 23 mcg to 88 mcg of silver daily.[4], [5] However, modern trends in agriculture have revealed an alarming decline in the mineral content of our foods since the early part of the last century. In fact, up to 80% of the mineral content in our foods has actually been lost.[6], [7], [8], [9]

For example, Senate Document No. 264 announced in 1936 the alarming fact that our foods (fruits, vegetables and grains) under cultivation on millions of acres of land no longer contained adequate mineral levels necessary for our well-being, no matter what quantities were consumed. The report emphasized that American foods varied enormously in nutritional value, and much of what was grown were simply hollow calories. The document reminds us that our physical well-being is more directly dependent upon the minerals we take into our systems than upon calories or vitamins or upon the precise proportions of starch, protein or carbohydrates we consume.[10]

Thus, our diet may be providing much less than 88 mcg silver daily. So what are reasonable guidelines for silver as a dietary supplement?

Reasonable Silver Supplementation

First, up to seven teaspoons daily of Millenia may be safely taken for extended periods (as the EPA’s Daily Referenced dose suggests) whenever you desire to bolster your immune support.¨Second, adjust for weight in younger adults and children as appropriate, typically one half the adult dose. And third, consider one teaspoon or more for general daily maintenance.¨ Please refer to the graphs at the end of this section.

However, for those people working in the silver industry or for those exposed to silver compounds regularly or for long periods, only a doctor should direct Millenia supplementation.

Conclusion

There is no official minimal daily requirement for silver. Yet your body contains approximately 1 mg silver (or 1,000 mcg).[11] Additionally, today’s typical diet may contain significantly less silver than what could be optimal. From the information presented throughout this brochure, you may determine that there is significant merit to including Millenia as your key dietary supplement. Millenia, as a formulation, enables you as well as your doctor to create highly individualized supplement protocols to match your unique circumstances at any point in time. Whatever your silver dosage strategy, remember that it is always best to: (1) hold Millenia under your tongue for 30 seconds before swallowing; (2) take it on an empty stomach. Food or drink may be consumed 10 minutes later. And (3) most importantly do not self-prescribe - if you have a medical condition always consult with your health care provider before taking this product.

Text Box: LOAEL Threshold

11 ppm for an average Adult:

a.)        6 teaspoons can be taken a day for 70 years in accordance with the reference dose

b.)      17 teaspoons can be taken a day for 70 years while remaining under the critical dose of 25 grams in a lifetime

Furthermore, according to the EPA oral silver intake guidelines (11 ppm)

a.      Taking 35 tspn daily of Millenia for 35 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult

b.      Taking 73 tspn daily of Millenia for 17 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult

c.      Taking 155 tspn daily of Millenia for 8 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult

d.      Taking 310 tspn daily of Millenia for 4 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult

e.      Taking 620 tspn daily of Millenia for 2 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult

f.       Taking 180 Tbspn daily of Millenia for 2 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult

g.      Taking ¾ gallon daily of Millenia for 2 years falls below LOAEL threshold for an adult
